Homecoming and tacos
After the Homecoming event, the annual Taco Truck Throwdown was held raising money for the Professional Latin American Association scholarships. Local taco trucks and vendors served the public and judges in hopes of taking a trophy home. The VIP winner went to California Sports Grill. The People’s Choice trophy was awarded to La Jacka Mobile. Hosted by the Professional Latin American Association, the battle for the best taco is from 5-8 p.m. in front of the Fox Theatre, corner of Lacey Boulevard and Irwin Street. Admission is free and the cost of tacos is $2. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Long Field Center and other needs in the community.

Multicultural Festival a celebration of diversity
The free event, put on by the Professional Latin American Association of Hanford, began at noon and lasted until 10 p.m. This year, there was one major change to the event: a new two-stage format. One stage was placed in front of the Hanford Civic Auditorium, while the other was placed on the opposite side of the auditorium.
