The Professional Latin
American Association is a non-profit organization, that was formed in August 2000 with four purposes in mind:
To promote the richness and beauty of the Latino Cultural Arts to the community.
To raise scholarship funds for local graduating seniors & re-entry students in Kings County.
To serve as mentors and role models to the communities youth.
To serve as a social networking organization and for the purpose of enhancing the personal and professional collaboration of its membership.
The Association was organized with the purpose in mind to promote the Latino Cultural Arts, to the community. This has been accomplished by hosting the annual
Multi-Cultural Street Fair.
Meetings are designed to be a support and mentoring system for women and men, by bringing local professionals of various backgrounds, to educate us on different or
current events in the community.
The Association is also a social networking organization established to enhance the personal and professional collaboration of its members for the express purpose
of positively enhancing and improving the quality of life for all in our community.
Portion of all proceeds from each event are used to help with community needs and for scholarships for local graduating seniors and re-entry students in Kings
Donations include: Valley Children’s Hospital, Long Field Center, CASA, Athletic programs, Domestic Violence Shelter, 5 C’s program, Women with a Vision. Scholarships
are given to ALL Kings county schools.
We are always looking for new members to join the organizing committee and volunteers to help in events. If you are interested please contact us.
